Majong Has Announced MineCon 2013. Who's Coming With Us?

It was recently publicized that Minecraft, the sandbox construction game created by Swedish video game programmer Markus Alexej "Notch" Persson, had sold over 7 million copies of Minecraft for the Xbox 360 and has surpassed 11 million for the PC.

But the news didn't stop there. Majong, the game's development company, has also announced the upcoming location of its growingly popular annual Minecraft convention, MineCon.

Going into its third year, MineCon started in 2010 as a spontaneous gathering of about 50 of the game's fans, in Bellevue, Washington. The convention's second outting, in 2011, took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a noted 5,000 people in attendance. Then, in 2012, over 7,000 fans attended the gaming convention in Disneyland Park in Paris, France.

Now, in 2013, the convention will be taking place in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center. The highly anticipated gathering will take place from November 2nd through the 3rd. Tickets and hotel rooms are expected to go on sale sometime in July.

As fans of the game, we have decided to start this page as a spot for Minecraft enthusiasts to come togther as a community and experience the awe that will be MineCon 2013.

As more details become available, we would like to start to get an idea of who will be attending and hopefully setup a group meetup for fans, in Orlando, beyond just the convention itself. We are hoping to connect with other gamers and plan on visiting some of the various local theme parks and other attractions in the Orlando area.

If you are interested in joining us for this Minecraft fan meetup and enjoying some of the extracurricular activities we are planning, please go to our Join The Fun page and fill out our signup form. There, you can let us know that you'ld like to join us in our festivities and also select to receive our MineCon 2013 E-mail newsletter

We are hoping to get as many people as we can to join in, in order to not only enhance the experience but perhaps obtain some group rates for lodging and events. So please plan on joining us in this momentous experience. We look forward to seeing you there.
